& LANDSCAPING
For clients seeking a new garden or the opportunity to start with a blank canvas, Susanne offers a complete garden design and landscaping service, tailored to the site, architecture, and way the space will be used.
The process begins with an on-site consultation to establish the brief, budget, and practical requirements. This is followed by a detailed site survey, which forms a critical part of the design process.
The survey allows the existing garden to be accurately measured and recorded, including levels, boundaries, and key site conditions such as soil. This information is then drawn to scale and used as the foundation for concept design, detailed technical drawings, and carefully considered planting schemes. Where appropriate, proposals are supported by 3D visualisations to help clients fully understand the design.
Each project is fully costed for landscape construction, with a clear programme agreed prior to work commencing on site.
Susanne remains closely involved throughout delivery, providing continuity from design through to completion and working with her landscapers to ensure the garden is built accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Many gardens evolve over time and can begin to feel overgrown, unbalanced, or no longer suited to how they are used.
A garden refurbishment focuses on reworking and refining an existing garden, rather than starting again from scratch.
Susanne offers a considered refurbishment service that looks beyond surface issues to understand the underlying structure of the garden. This may include reworking layouts, editing and refreshing planting, and introducing new elements where needed to restore balance, clarity, and long-term interest.
The aim is to retain what works well, while thoughtfully improving the overall design so the garden once again feels cohesive, manageable, and enjoyable to use.

Border Redesign

A border redesign service refreshing existing planting or introducing new schemes to improve structure and seasonal interest.
Each border is designed in response to its specific setting, with plant choices carefully selected to suit conditions such as aspect, soil, and light levels. Structural plants provide year-round form and continuity, while perennials and grasses add movement, texture, and seasonal colour.
The result is a cohesive planting scheme that feels balanced, resilient, and well integrated within the wider garden.

The consultation is the first step in shaping your garden. It provides an opportunity to walk through your space together, discuss ideas, and explore its potential — whether you are starting with a blank canvas or looking to improve an existing garden.
During the visit, Susanne offers considered design and planting advice tailored to your garden and the way you want to use it. This may include guidance on managing existing plants, identifying opportunities for improvement, and outlining possible next steps to help you move forward with confidence.
Consultations are typically around 90 minutes and are offered as a standalone service, providing clear, professional advice without obligation to proceed further.

PlantS & Planting
High-quality plants, including mature specimens, carefully sourced and planted with cost savings where possible.
Susanne oversees the full process of plant sourcing, supply, and planting, ensuring each scheme is thoughtfully selected and appropriate for the garden’s conditions and long-term success. Plants are sourced from trusted nurseries, with a preference for local suppliers where possible.
Planting may include a mix of mature specimens, trees, topiary, and both bare-root and container-grown plants, selected to provide structure, longevity, and seasonal interest.
As part of the overall design process, careful attention is given to plant positioning to ensure each element sits naturally within the wider scheme.
Soil preparation and improvement form an integral part of the service, with advice provided on suitable composts and soil conditioners to support healthy establishment and growth.
