Old Bush

Susanne's Hampshire-based home.

Susanne lives in a small rural village just 5 miles from Romsey, Hampshire in a thatched cottage with about an acre and a half of garden.

Together with her husband, Jules, an architect with a focus on historic and listed buildings, they have developed the garden over the last four years which is when they arrived here.

Our Garden

The garden wraps itself around a thatched cottage that has seen a Victorian, a 1970's extension and an Orangery. It flows naturally from one space to the next. There is a secret garden, herbacous planting around the terrace, praire style gardens and a woodland with stream.

The lawns take their own shape too. They're not an oversight or forgotten but very much part of the design. You will see this recurring theme in many of the gardens Susanne designs for her clients.

Watching the garden develop through the seasons is a joy: from the vibrant blossoms of spring to the frost covering of winter.
