Opening the Garden this June in Support of Horatio’s Garden

There is a particular moment in early summer when the garden begins to feel immersive. The roses are opening, the lavender is beginning to soften the pathways with scent and colour, and the herbaceous borders start to knit together into something generous and full of movement.

This June I’ll be opening the garden for a series of guided tours in support of Horatio’s Garden.

Over the years the garden has evolved gradually, shaped not only by planting combinations and structure, but by the experience of moving through it. From the more formal spaces near the house to the softer woodland walks and streamside planting, each area has been designed to unfold gently as you explore.

During the tours I’ll be sharing some of the thinking behind the design — how the spaces connect, the role of repetition and rhythm within the planting, and the combinations that help give the garden softness, atmosphere and long seasonal interest.

June is one of the most beautiful times within the garden. The borders are fresh and abundant, the roses are beginning to peak and the light through the woodland edges brings a calmness that changes throughout the day.

Most importantly, every ticket sold will help support the wonderful work of Horatio’s Garden.

I very much hope you’ll join me!

Susanne
